Recipe View 15 mins Layer the ingredients in the order listed into a clean, 1-quart wide-mouth canning jar. After adding the confectioners' sugar and cocoa powder, wipe the inside of the jar with a dry paper towel to maintain distinct layers. Pack each layer firmly before adding the next, especially before the flour mixture, as space will be tight. (15 minutes)

Peanut Butter Cookies Instructions:
1. Empty the jar of cookie mix into a large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend the mix. (2 minutes)
2. Add 1/2 cup (1 stick) of softened butter or margarine (not diet!), 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter, 1 large egg (slightly beaten), and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. (5 minutes)
3. Mix until completely blended. You may need to use your hands to finish incorporating all ingredients. (5 minutes)
4. Shape the dough into walnut-sized balls and place them 2 inches apart on parchment-lined baking sheets (do not use waxed paper). Press each ball down gently with a fork. (10 minutes)
5. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. (20 minutes)
